Need some Valentine’s Day plans??? No better way to Valentine than dinner and a movie and Alita : Battle Angel just might be the best movie for that. It has been 20 years in the making for Producer James Cameron, James Cameron from Titanic and Avatar and Director, Robert Rodriguez. Alita : Battle Angel started as a Japanese Anime Manga comic and now is being taken to the big screen for everyone to enjoy. In a world where we see strong male protagonist, I love that this movie has a strong female protagonist for little girls everywhere to be inspired by.
So what is Alita : Battle Angel about:
This is a futuristic movie set several centuries into the future about an epic adventure of hope and adventure with the main character Alita who is a cyborg found abandoned in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido. Ido is a cyber doctor who takes Alita to his clinic. When Alita comes to, she has no idea of her extraordinary past and the passion and soul she once had. Alita must learn to navigate her new life and nuances of Iron City all while Ido tries to shield her from her past while her new street-smart friend Hugo wants to reconnect Alita with her past. When Alita is faced with corrupt forces that run the city and could end the world she knows, Alita discovers something about her past – she has unique fighting abilities that the corrupt forces want to quell. If she can stay out of their control, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she’s grown to love.
This movie is action-packed, has beautiful cinematography and full of amazing stunt work. 20th century Fox took us to Tempest Freerunning Academy in Los Angeles to learn some of the basic movie stunts with former and current America Ninja Warriors. We now have a much larger appreciation for what they do 8 hours a day on a movie set.
Head out to the theaters tomorrow!
