Its officially summer and as a mom I am on the hunt for fun all day activities for my little one. We had the opportunity to head over to Knott’s Berry Farm last week and I have to say I was just as excited as my 6 year old to check out Ghost Town Alive! I think a couple decades have passed since I last went to Knott’s yet as soon as we started walking through the park, it felt as though nothing had changed in the best way possible.
So Ghost Town Alive! is open now through September 4th and continues the story of the “notorious Mayfield Gang that escaped the custody of Sheriff Wheeler. Word around town is the Mayfield’s have been spotted back in Calico and the townsfolk are in need of some help in capturing the bandits and keeping the town safe. Ghost Town Alive! offers guests a firsthand experience to play an important part in this unfolding story of the wild west, with specific tasks and activities and an essential role as an honorary citizen of Calico (Per Knott’s website).”
While we were at Ghost Town Alive! we witnessed a trial complete with a judge and a robbery but missed the western hoedown which just means we will have to go back again. We panned for gold ($10), checked out and purchased a Mexican Coconut Geode which we had cut open, hung out with donkeys and horses, ate BBQ, did some water rafting, watched a blacksmith and found ourselves in jail. What we loved was all the characters in Ghost Town Alive! are all characters that you can ask questions to while they stay in character.
The highlight of the day was the Pony Express Rides (for taller kiddos and adults) and the train ride. We had an absolute blast.
Thank you Knott’s Berry Farm for hosting us!
