Summer is coming to an end…if you are anything like me, you have already vacationed, sent your kiddo to summer camp, finished summer school and BBQ’d to your hearts content…with 30 days before school starts you are trying to fill in the schedule with fun, memorable activities.
Here are 3 places you will find me in the next month:
Chinatown Summer Nights: MY FAVE! You can set off confetti bombs to your hearts content, munch on fab food from some of LA’s best food trucks, there are beer tents, live music, DJs and free arts and crafts for the kids. We always stop for a boba before enetering the Plaza. This happens 3 times a summer and there are only two left. We look forward to this every summer!
- July 16th 5pm-Midnight
- No admisson fee
- Chinatown Central Plaza
- 943 N Broadway, Los Angeles, California 90012

Free Shakespeare at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park: Yup! You read that right…FREE showing of The Tempest and Richard III at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park. Pack your lawn chairs, blanket and picnic basket and enjoy a great showing. Invertigo Dance performs Friday-Sunday before the performance. Bring Layers…it gets chilly when the sun goes down! Be advised that while children are welcome, the shows are not edited for them.
- Plays every Wednesday through Sunday until September 4th
- Performances at 7pm
- Sweet treats from The Village Bakery & Café, kettle corn and light snacks are available for purchase

The Annenberg Community Beach House: This is a hidden beach gem in LA! It is a public beach with parking you can reserve online. Its $12 per day like any other beach lot. There is a boardwalk that takes you straight from the parking lot to the water (almost), which make this very stroller friendly. Beach volleyball courts, beach soccer fields, stand-up paddle board rentals plus a splash pad and playground are available to the public year-round. They have free cultural programs, including tours of the Marion Davies Guest House, Audubon Bird Society Walks, concerts, readings and more. They also have the “Cardboard Yacht Regatta” which is on my list of “must-dos” this year.

Open Daily May-September
-
$12 Parking -same as any lot in Santa Monica on the beach
-
