Its hot and there are 35 more days before school starts…but who is counting??? We have been to summer camp, the park a million times, friend’s homes with pools, vacationed and celebrated the 4th of July and now we are scrambling to find fun summer activities, preferably in the shade. Yes Los Angeles weather is ideal almost year-round…it’s been a little toasty lately so we Angelenos are looking for shade while still being outside.
So today we headed over to the Hollywood Bowl for the Summer Sounds concert series. I will be honest with you, I never did my research about this event. Music + Kids = Always a YES from me, so I bought a couple sets of tickets that I received in the mail stashed away until this am.
First of all, parking is FREE! Major score here.
Secondly, if you look at your ticket it will tell you if you are doing music or art first. YES there is both! Today we started with art. There were several options to choose from but my little one choose the weathervane and we worked on it with his art teacher from the Barnsdall Theater for 45 minutes.
Next we moved on to the music section. It was a super cute kids concert with music adults loved too, I did! It was sounds of the USA which featured the band, Rose’s Pawn Shop which plays a mix of Americana, folk, rock and bluegrass. It pretty much sounds AWESOME! 45 minutes flew by and we topped off the day we taking pictures with the cast.
A definite MUST DO if you live or are visiting LA in the summertime with kids!
