Tuesday April 18th, the latest Warner Brothers picture premiered at the TCL Chinese Theaters in Hollywood, the Unforgettable movie. I fell in love with the movie before I even saw because of the powerhouse of females involved with this movie. Unforgettable was written by Christina Hodson, directed and produced by Denise Di Novi (her directorial debut) as well as Allison Greenspan with two female leads Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson. Most of the supporting cast was also female including Cherly Ladd (one of my favorite Charlie’s Angels), Isabella Kai Rice and Whitney Cummings. The female power was incredible but Geoff Stults and Simon Kassianides were fantastic in this film. You will love and hate Geoff Stults character but you will identify with his stance. Simon Kassianides on the other hand plays a serious stalker that has had his emotional canon loaded and ready to fire off. He is so creepy, it’s amazing. You will absolutely love hating him.
The Unforgettable movie is the ultimate girls night out movie. It is packed with drama, suspense and witty lines mostly delivered with a Katherine Heigl (Tessa) flair that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It feels like a mix of a Lifetime movie on steroids and a modern day Fatal Attraction. This movie hits home for anyone that has ever dealt with a crazy ex, to be quite honest resonates with anyone who has had any dating disasters or friends that have.
Katherine Heigl delivers some of the delusional yet amazing scenes. You will be on a roller coaster of emotions all the way to very end. Without giving away the last scene, you will walk out of the theater wondering in a little bit of shock wondering when Unforgettable 2 comes out.
Some fun facts about Unforgettable is that is filmed in 30 days. While interviewing Rosario Dawson on the black carpet, she spoke about why she took the role of Julia Banks. She is a huge advocate of domestic violence awareness and this movie although shows violence, ultimately shows her character triumphing in the end. A rare end for most victims of domestic violence.
Unforgettable hits theaters June 21st!
