5 Beach with Kids Must Haves

June 27, 2016

Smiling and Soaking in some of Nature’s Vitamin D
Family Fun at the Beach
We love exploring Tide Pools and seeing cool shells

School is OUT and SUMMER IS IN! So what do we do for the summer? We head to the beach as often as we can. We live fairly close to the beach, so I like to be able to go when time permits. Yes, sometimes we plan ahead, but a lot of the time we stop because it sounds super fun to go and we are close by. My little guy is out of school and there is simply no reason not to head to sand and the ocean. Not only does he love playing in the sand, making san castles and running through the water…I love breathing in the fresh ocean air and resetting my mind. Its a WIN-WIN-WIN for everyone!

Since we randomly stop for the Beach, here are my 5 Beach Must Haves that I always keep in the car in a backpack:

Pop-Up Shade of sorts is a must for us. I also use a pop-up umbrella or pop-up shade depending on the day. PS. GO BRUINS!
A Cleaner Air-Spray Sunscreens sans parabens and such. Kiss My Face is a go to for us (*TIP: check your local drug store clearance area for a deal and ask for extra coupons. This is normall $16ish at Whole Foods and I found this at Walgreens for $8.49 and then they gave me an additional $2 off…we bought every bottle they had)
Water repellant blanket and backpack are a must for me. I always like to have a hat handy as well
  1. Waterproof Washable Beach/Park Blanket
  2. Surfer Dudes (hours of fun…you throw them out to the water and they surf back in)
  3. Large plastic shovel and Pail
  4. Sun Shade: Pop Up tent, Pop up Shade, Portable Umbrella
  5. Sunscreen
Exploring at the Beach
Surfer Dudes are hours of FUN!
Beach Tools…Shovel and Pail

*I always try to remember to stick some water friendly shoes in my trunk as well (Havianas for me and Natives for the little one) but sometimes post event I am grateful to have some flip flops to give my heel-hurting feet a break

Always like to be near the Lifeguard Tower in case of emergency
Water Repellant backpack rocks for the beach. It keeps sand from sticking to your bag and I don’t mind when there are bucket of water splashing around (My fave is Ju-Ju-Be)

At the end of the day, whether you are super prepared or not…you are going to have a blast!
