It is that time of year finally…SUMMER! The sun is blazing and kids are out of school. If your kids are anything like mine, they play all day in the sunshine and come running into the house wanting/demanding something to cool them down. My little guy always wants ice cream or popsicles, so I have had to get creative with them. A cold , sweet treat that is still healthy is a tough order to disguise. Here are some of our faves for kid friendly easy summer snacks:
- Frozen Grapes: Always a easy summer snack hit and sometimes to make it more fun, I put them on a skewer. My favorite kind to freeze is the cotton candy ones, they really do taste like cotton candy
Cotton Candy Grapes Frozen Grape Skewers Cleaned, Dried and Frozen Grapes - Watermelon Slushie Super simple. Ice and watermelon into the blender until it hits a smooth consistency and then drink away. Literally an easy summer snack hit in seconds
Downing the Slushie Watermelon Slushie - Melon Balls Everything is more fun in a ball shape. I take whatever the sweetest melon at the store is, cut in half and take the seeds out and then use a “baller” tool and make melon balls. Whats more fun for easy summer snacks than melon balls???
- Zoku Popsicles This thing is amazing. You put the contraption in the freezer and then you take it out, make your own fruit juice and pour it in and put the popsicle sticks in and 7-9 minutes later you have made your own healthy popsicles
Melon Balls What you need to make Fruit Ice Cubes Zoku Popsicle Maker Fresh Fruit Ice Make your own fruit juice or take fresh juice from the store and pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze. These are fun, easy and versatile. I like adding them to some soda water with a fun straw for a fun alternative to water on a hot day
