
With the holidays pretty much in full swing beginning on Thursday, I know I always need to re-center and de-stress. So how the heck can this be done?!?!? These are my top 5 ways:
1. Exercise: Some how, some way find 2-45 minutes to get your endorphins pumping. This will instantly boost your mood and the rest of your day. It can be anything from a quick sun salutation in your living room to taking a pilates class or jogging a few miles. It doesn’t matter…just do it!
2. Hydrate: Flush those negative toxins right out of your body. Drink tons of water and you will feel more alive
3. Do a holiday vision board: Figure out whats important to you during the craze of the holidays. Is it making memories? Being the ultimate host? Whatever it might be…think about it, write it down and it will give you focus to what you are trying to accomplish during the holidays. I am always amazed that it seems to just say make memories, dont sweat the small stuff and enjoy family and friends. It makes all the craze dial down instantly. You are never alone for holiday drama, we all have it.
4. Take time out for you: Take a minute to breathe. Relax in a nice hot shower and get rejuvenated. You owe it to yourself to take a couple moments to have some peace and quiet
5. Its ok to say NO: Figure out what you can feasibly do and say yes to that. Don’t over commit yourself to the point where baking cookies for a holiday event is no longer fun because you already committed to volunteering for your kids play and hosting a holiday get together at your house.
At the end of the day…remember..EAT, DRINK and BE MERRY!
