The idea that being positive is truly mind over matter is something that has taken me years to get through my head. Is being positive and happy truly as easy as a mindset? Is being angry something I can change? Can I really reset our minds to put myself into a more positive place?
These questions are constantly going through my head. Is there a way to re-program our minds so that we can truly be happier? The answer is YES!
Not every day do I wake up and feel like the world is my oyster and I am setting out to conquer it. Some days I am super tired from being up with my little kiddo all night, sometimes I am stressed about life or a work deadline but if I really focused on all the tiredness and stress…guess what my whole day would feel like a burden. That burden becomes a cycle. Each stressful day turns into a stressful night and then increasingly more stressful morning the next day day and so on.
I find that id I wake up and acknowledge that it sucks that I didn’t have a great night’s rest and yes I have lots of work to do but decide with conviction that today is going to be a good day…guess what? I am going to gave a better day than if I focused on the negative. Here are some ways I turn my frown upside down:
- SMILE: This is an automatic modd brightener
- TAKE 3 DEEP BREATHS: Inhale positivity in, exhale negativity out…visualize it
- CREATE A PLAN FOR THE DAY: Figure out what is the most important items to accomplish in the day and how you are going to do it. Making a game plan makes you feel like everything is all of a sudden much more manageable
- HONOR YOUR BODY: HONOR YOUR BODY. If you feel tired, make time for a nap. Make time to exercise. Endorphins will melt the stress away
- NOURISH YOUR BODY: When you are tired and stressed you are most likely to use poor judgement with food. These are the days to be most focused on eating good, nutritious foods as well as staying hydrated. Lack of water intake will make you feel even more tired
