Story Bots is such a cute show and one of my older son’s favorite shows on Netflix. I love bringing the screen to life for my kids whether it be with a themed snack or movie night or this time of year… a costume. Not only is it fun thinking of a costume idea, then researching it and gathering materials…it is also the fun of crafting with your kids.
Story Bots Costume:
What You Need:
Solid Color Bowls (primary colors are ideal)
Cardboard from an old box
Construction Paper or Paint in Solid Colors
White Paper
Black Marker or Construction Paper
Solid Colored Shirt and Pants
How To Make It:
Story Bots are larger than life in so many ways but playful so that was what we were trying to do when we created the costumes. I liked making the head piece out of a bowl because it was something fun and different and I found it at the dollar store. We used one from there and one bowl we had at home for each of the boys. I used a masking tape roll to outline the eyes on both the cardboard box and white paper. Cut both out at glue together. Next I cut out eyebrows for the Story Bots out of both fun colored construction paper and cardboard to give it some firmness and strength. For the red themed I did one giant eyebrow and glued it to the eyeballs, for the blue theme I but an extra sliver of cardboard and gave the eyebrows some height from the eyeballs which I thought was fun plus eyelids in the matching blue. Next, color in your eyeballs and hot hot glue everything to the bowls and boom…that’s it! Have your kids put on their solid color pants and shirts and maybe even a puffy vest if it’s chillier in your area.
