Saturday March 18th, we headed over to Burbank to the Dreamworks Animation campus. We were there to check out the “cutest screening ever” of their newest animation Boss Baby.
So what is this movie about? Aren’t all babies bossy? In my opinion…YES in their very own sweet and innocent way. I mean how else would they let you know they were hungry, thirsty, tired or needed some warm snuggles??? Boss Baby is the perfect depiction of how a “new baby” impacts a family from a 7 year old boy’s perspective. What takes this movie to a whole new level of fun is that the “Boss Baby” is voiced by Alec Baldwin, not to mention that the boss baby shows up wearing a suit onesie and a briefcase. This baby’s mission is to stop the “The Puppy Co” from making the forever puppy that everyone loves and chooses over babies.
Initially, Tim (the 7 yr old) cannot stand the new baby. After all, new babies always steal all the love, kisses and attention of the parents they formerly had wrapped around his/her finger. This movie takes you through the journey of two brothers learning to get along for a common cause of the Boss Baby going back to where he came from as long as he completes this mission. During this process, the two brothers find a profound love for each other that prevails in the end.
This latest Dreamworks Animation was a fun way to spend a couple hours on a weekend. We all laughed and had a great time. It may not be the blockbuster of the year but you certainly will not be disappointed that you went to theaters to watch it.
Our special day on the Dreamworks Animation lot included meeting and playing with puppies from Vanderpump Dogs, a beautiful array of snacks, learning to draw the Boss Baby with animators from the movie and of course pictures on the red carpet. Also big thanks to Rosie Rivera, sister of the late Jenni Rivera, for hosting this fabulous day!
