On July 23rd, we headed over to Westwood for the world premiere of the highly anticipated, Emoji Movie. It’s pretty much a millennial moms dream to have this movie come out. There is seriously nothing better than adding emojis to every text, email and IG post.
Sony Animation always puts on a fabulous pre/post premiere party and this one definitely lived up to that standard. The Emoji Movie had a pretty epic pre-party complete with carnival games, food trucks and Emoji gifting around every corner. Some of our highlights include Hot Dog on a Stick, Sno-Cones and the light-up Emoji headbands. Did I mention I won the grand prize of the Plinko game??? And yes, the prize was a Poop Pillow. Ummmm…definitely WINNING!
So here are my thoughts on the Emoji movie:
It was a fun kids movie with some adult humor to spice it up a little. My little one is 6 years old and I guarantee you he thinks that what happened to the emojis in the movie happens inside my phone all day, every day. The characters were fun and for a plot line based around characters in your text keyboard…I thought it was FUN.
My 2 favorite parts:
- The huge theme of BE YOU
- If there are no other numbers, why does it matter to be #1?
