My Resolution Revolution
Every year around the end of December, we all find ourselves making resolutions to start on January 1st. A list of some attainable goals and some lofty goals, both of which we are so excited about manifesting to fruition. I would say that a good majority of resolutions we make every year revolve around eating better, exercising more, finding a job you are more passionate about, losing some weight and spending more time with family and friends.
I would say that I very much fall in line with many of these resolutions, but I have decided that all of these goals are truly made up of small lifestyle tweaks that we can be working on all year long to make a real life change. Each one of these goals can be broken down into smaller micro goals. For instance, back in December, I committed to adding in some extra protein in the morning. One way to do this is by adding eggs to our breakfast to superpower our day. Adding one large egg to your breakfast is an easy way to add in 6 grams of high-quality protein, choline, and essential amino acids into our diet. I simply set off to create a Pinterest board of great egg recipes to try in the new year! I also checked out IncredibleEgg.org where I found a delicious Cloud Egg recipe we couldn’t resist trying. They were so easy and FUN to make. We have been making them every week and it is helping us check off one of our New Year’s goals. Starting the new year with this attainable goal has made it easier to focus on some of the other goals on my list. Some of the goals may be easier than others, but I do think that if you write them all down and visit them every week…you will likely be more successful with making a long-lasting lifestyle change and have an even shorter list of resolutions come December this year. Let’s focus on making a resolution revolution!
Some of the lifestyle changes, I am committing to making this year are:
- Finding a better work/life balance
- Putting down my phone more often
- Take nightly walks with my family
- Start a meditation practice
Tip: Be flexible with your goals! Check in often and don’t be afraid to reset and try again! We can do this!
