Lunar New Year at Universal Studios

So what’s new at Universal Studios in Hollywood…SO MUCH!

We had the opportunity to check out all the FUN during the Lunar New Year for the Year of the Pig:

Here are some special performances that will be happening, so write these dates down:

  • February 9-10 – Hangzhou Performance Groups
  • February 16-17 – Southern Wind Lion Dance
  • February 18 – Wong Tai Sen Lion Dance

 DreamWorks Theatre featuring “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest

Right after this adorable and hilarious show, we had to stop and meet Mr. Ping of Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop. This is a MUST to capture on video because you will be giggling for days after. Mr. Ping is hilarious, interactive and he shares his secret to his amazing noodles…nothing! If you believe they are special they will be and honestly isn’t that the metaphor for life???

 

I didn’t totally believe Mr. Ping when he said that his noodles didn’t have a special ingredient because we went and had some Bao and Noodles and I have to say it was SUPER GOOD! Having some Chinese fare was a nice change up of what we usually get at Universal Studios

One of my faves and global pop icon Hello Kitty, DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda masters Po and Tigress and a Mandarin-speaking Transformer’s MEGATRON, now through Monday, February 18, 2019. There are also wishing trees and lanterns at Universal Plaza.

The centerpiece of the Lunar New Year festivities features DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda Jade Palace Performance Stage and the exciting Dragon Warrior Training Show based on the beloved Kung Fu Panda franchise and Universal Studios Hollywood’s popular DreamWorks Theatre featuring “Kung Fu Panda” attraction.  The interactive martial art demonstration performed by Master Po and friends. The immersive event also features seasoned animators teaching guests techniques to draw Po and the Furious Five as keepsake mementos.

Well back to Mr. Ping’s noodles….

With our bellies full, we headed over to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to check out all the fun. We have seen the movie and currently reading the first book, so it was super cool to see the book/movie come to life and cast some of our own spells. We bought a wand and tested out our spellbound magic including some of the new magic like Incendiofire-making spell and the Alohomoraunlocking spell
