We all know that I love workout clothes especially when they can go from the gym to carpool pickup and a casual lunch out with friends. One of my favorite lines is CALIA by Carrie Underwood. As soon as I got my first pieces, I was hooked. I loved that it was good quality material but it had very feminine details (think ruffles, color palette, lace, etc) on all of the pieces which is rare for workout clothes. The attention to detail and fit was amazing.
This summer I had the opportunity to the meet the team and designers behind CALIA, including Carrie Underwood herself who is one of the lead designers, as well as moderating a panel with Carrie and Alycia who is another lead designer. Moderating the panel made me fall more in love with CALIA because you feel and see the heart and passion behind every piece. I learned that every season there is a “Hero” piece that every other piece in the line can mix and match with. You may not notice it on first glance but as you mix and match, you realize how cute literally everything looks together. Not only does every season have a ton of versatility, pieces are made to coordinate with seasons past and seasons in the future. So if you choose a light turquoise legging today, you can mix it up for Fall/Winter with a cream sherpa jacket or anything else making the seasons almost seasonless as far as color palettes.
Another HUGE reason I fell more in love with CALIA is how important, we as customers are to the brand. Carrie and her team read every piece of customer feedback, they hold focus groups and read all the social media messages. They want their customer to feel heard and addressed and I love that. It is likely why this line is one of the few lines that the 7/8th pant fits tight around the ankle for me…as a petite girl this is a tall order.
