A fun fact about our family is that we (E and I) are completely addicted to playing Angry Birds Match on my phone…it’s seriously the best game ever! So needless to say we are huge @angrybirds Fans in this household and could not have been more excited that the second movie was coming out. The first movie Angry Birds was seriously adorable so there was no doubt in my mind that the second would be equally as good. In fact, I think the second movie is cuter than the first and I absolutely love that Silver is a STEAM boss babe and leads the boy birds to success in this movie!
I loved chatting with Rachel Bloom about being Silver in this movie because she explains the importance of having a strong lead girl bird who uses her wits and science background to ultimately defeat the eagles. She is passed the leader torch from Red and it is a big moment. I love that Sony celebrates having a girl in a major leadership role in a very positive way. They show how it is difficult for Red to make that transition but ultimately if he wants Bird and Pig Island to be safe, it is the right choice because Silver has the skillset to make that happen.
One of the funnier red carpet interviews from the premiere was Josh Gad. He was talking about the benefits of voicing characters. You don’t have to shower always and you can even wear a bathrobe to work. Always a gem!
