Who knew you could make Fresh Fruit Leather? 🍓
Not me! I had always assumed it would be a lot of work to make homemade fruit leather. It just straight up sounds hard so I have always purchased it. Not to mention, I do not own a food dehydrator and all the recipes I had seen used a dehydrator. Since we have been on quarantine, I have been having fun trying new recipes that I pretty much have the ingredients for, so I decided to go for it and make some homemade fruit leather…I also had some extra fun making it on Instagram live on @hellobello for a part of Camp Hello Bello. Here are the highlights of what you need to know.
What You Need:
2c Frozen or Fresh Strawberries
4 TBSP Applesauce unsweetened
Squeeze of honey if desired
How to Make it:
Put everything in the blender (I used @vitamix )
Preheat oven to 170 degree if you do not have a food dehydrator like us
Spread blend onto parchment paper on top of cookie sheet
Bake for 8-10 hours
To make it pinterest ready, cut wide strips of the fruit leather, roll it loosely and then tie a piece of twine around it. So cute for school lunches, a special snack or truly anytime your kids want some.
All done! So easy and have fun mixing and matching frozen or fresh fruit…maybe even hide some veggies in it🍓
Stay well friends!
