Its that time of year when all of parents feverishly ask each other for suggestions for gifts for the holidays. One of my favorite places to shop is Lakeshore Learning in Walnut Creek. Pre-child I was slightly overwhelmed by all of the resources and school supplies they offer there; however, post-child it is my “go-to” to every day activities and gifts. So after what seems like purchasing the entire store for material for kids 4 and under…Eddie has come up with a few of his favorite things:
1. Arts & Crafts Supply Center: This is one of the best starter kits for any craft loving kid. It has 20 drawers of googly eyes, pom poms, glue, ribbon, etc. we craft almost every day so after a couple months, we are refilling some of our empty drawers. As a parent, I love having a concise center to bring out for craft time and has minimal clean up time. With the variety of supplies, it is good for almost any age and craft level. From a parent’s perspective, its a great kit to get you going.
2. Motorized Spin Art Center: This never-ending art project is one of my favorites. I know my little guy loves it, but I am not sure he loves it quite as much as I do. We have logged more hours than I want to share making spin rt. We have framed some pieces for grandparents, made ornaments with some pieces and dozens adorn our house. This little spin art machine brings me back to being a kid again and has been our go to gift for birthdays and holiday gift exchanges. Eddie gives it 2 thumbs up!
3. Giant Stencil Box: With my little guy just turning 3, he has become very interested in learning how to write and draw. One can only imagine that he is not totally able to draw out what he has in his mind, which can sometimes lead to a 3 yr old meltdown…not my favorite activity. We came across the stencil box and I was quite sure if he was ready, but knew if he wasn’t quite there yet, I could trace the stencils and he could color them in. Surprisingly, stencils keep my wee one occupied for almost an hour…which in toddler time is an eternity. I love that this gift can be used for many years to come. Comes wit a great box for storing as well.
Any good gift suggestions? Toys? Books?
