Y’all know try to see EVERY kids movie that comes out in theaters but every now and again we miss one and Abominable was one of them. We love a good Yeti movie like most of you. What I was drawn to as well was the showcasing of the Chinese culture and traditions since I am half Chinese and try to share as much four culture and traditions as I can with our son.
Here is the trailer:
So what is this movie about:
This is a magical and animated story that follows teenage Yi (Chloe Bennet) as she meets a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in China. Yi and her friends Jin (Trainor) and Peng (Tsai), name him “Everest” and begin a journey to reunite the Yeti with his family on the highest place on Earth; however, Yi, Jin an Peng. must outsmart Burnish who is a very wealthy man who desperately wants a Yeti.
So in anticipation of watching this movie at home, we celebrated with Chef Shirley Chung by making dark chocolate ganache peppermint candy baos, making our own Yeti sound maker and meeting the voice behind the Yeti.
Abominable is streaming now and on DVD/Blu-Ray Dec 17th!
