I recently went to the ABC Baby and Kids Expo in Las Vegas and my mind was BLOWN to say the very least.
When I had my son over 6 years ago, baby gear was not nearly as beautiful as it is today. I remember buying a baby carrier and looking at the color options of navy and black. It just wasn’t that exciting to buy baby gear. I remember picking a nursery theme and not having all the boutique and etsy them options that there are today.
I distinctly remember my husband saying a couple years ago that he wasn’t a HUGE fan of the fact that our living room looked like it had a baby/kid toy store explode. All the bins to keep toys in were primary color and did not go with our ranch/country home decked out in neutrals. There just wasn’t that many options.
After going to the ABC Baby and Kids expo, I realized how much baby/kids gear has modernized. Instead of toys, gear and storage sticking out like a sore thumb in your living room or play room it is now so easy to integrate all of this into your decor style. Some of faves include:
- Gathre:Â a vegan leather like play mat that is gorgeous and comes in light neutrals. They are so soft, easy to clean and gorgeous
- Stokke : I have been a HUGE fan of these high chairs since my little was wee, but what I really love is that they go from infant chairs (with the right attachments) to toddler chairs to essentially a booster seat and then a desk chair. The new colors assortment allows for any decor style for the lifetime transition.
- Skip Hop: One of my favorite new pieces they have coming out is the “teepee” for the tummy time. OMG it is the cutest. The overly bright colors for tummy time mats that are hard to put away are gone. The colors are cute and you wont mind this adorable teepee on your living floor. For that little zest your child wants, Skip Hop has SO many new “ZOO” styles coming out in 2017. We are talking about unicorns, chameleons, foxes, etc that are all available in raincoats, umbrellas, lunchbox items and so much more.
- Covered Goods: A very cute patterned nursing (think black and white stripes, etc) that is super stretchy and soft, has 360 degree coverage and  coverts into an infant carseat cover, scarf, and shopping cart cover (fits Target, Costco and Whole Foods). I thought these were scarfs when I saw them on display. Very cute!
- Ergo Pouch: The Sleep Suit is a baby must have. Fully organic and made with all natural fibers. The coolest part is that it converts from a sleeping bag to a sleep suit with legs using 4 way zippers and has non-slip pads for the feet. Seriously genius! I have a kid with extreme eczema so this would have been amazing to have, plus the patterns are so cute and chic
- Micuna Rocking Chair
- Fisher Price/Jonathon Adler Collaboration: Its gorgeous…everything. I was most enamored by the dressers that have matching cribs or vice versa. They are light grey/white with honeycomb hardware and Ming-inspired capped feet. The dressers are definitely pieces that can grow with your child. They are timeless looking and have a lot of capacity.
- KidKraft: The teepees at KidKraft were every kids dream and probably moms as well. The designs just made you want to buy one on the spot. What I actually loved the most were the luggage sets, more specifically the rolling luggage for wee ones. They have the cutest designs like rainbow, dinosaurs and more but are crafted like adult luggage. Perfectly sized as  a carry-on, adjustable handle but also maxes out capacity unlike most kid luggage that prioritizes “cuteness” over efficiency and utility. Love that there was also a matching backpack, duffel bag and roll out sleeping bag. Nicely done!
- Honest Co: Diaper bags have really changed from looking like a “baby” bag to looking like great purses with awesome utlity and being completely wipeable. Honest Co not only has great plant based diapers with cute prints, great safe and clean home essentials but now is coming out with a line of diaper bags that look like great vegan leather bags. So chic you wouldnt even know they were for babies.
- Itzy Ritzy: I have been a HUGE fan of the Itzy Ritzy reusable bags for years now. Such cute prints including llamas now, but have also been coveting the adorable moccasins they have in metallic gold and silver. Swoon! When I went by their booth, I saw their new line of diaper bags that are launching. They are beautiful. I feel like they have a slight rocker influence with the grommets and then a classic tassel on the zipper. The bags I loved the most were tri-color in a rich brown, black and cream. They were leather like and GORGEOUS! While I dont have any need for diaper bags any longer, they do make some of the best bags for laptops. Need one like yesterday!
- Tokidoki Collaboration: LOVED the Zoli  and Tokidoki collaboration on the drink bottles and food containers. SO awesome…I wanted one myself. I was also coveting the latest Tokidoki collaboration with Ju-Ju-Be, but everything was sold out per usual with everything Tokidoki.
- Beaba: This baby food processor/steamer/food maker that I had in green now comes in the trendy rose color with rose gold accents…SO GORGEOUS!
It is amazing how far baby products have come and how seamlessly they now integrate into whatever decor style you have. Everything in the baby world seems to have a “transitioning” ability (3 in 1) so that you do not become overwhelmed with thr products you need and the products you will need. More to come! Stay tuned!
