On July 1st Disney’s latest movie, The BFG comes out in theaters everywhere. This past Monday, we and the rest of the press were treated to a 3-D sneak preview at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.

I have to admit, I was skeptical of how good the movie could be. I mean, me like most of you were probably HUGE Roald Dahl fans growing up and “The BFG” book was a favorite of mine. Generally books can never be topped for me. The description and words can never be fully created on screen…well The BFG was UH-MAZ-ING. Steven Spielberg outdid himself. The cinematography was simply SCRUM-DIDDLY-UMPTIOUS as the Big Friendly Giant would say.
The script and delivery of the BFG was incredible. Big Friendly Giant will give you a run for your money as you try to decipher his adorable giant language. It is a story of growing courage, love for friends and standing up for yourself. Sometimes it takes a little friend, like Sophie, to inspire courage in a rather large and older friend like the BFG. We can all use a little Sophie in our lives to stand up to bullies or rather in this case the Big Unfriendly Giants.

My 5 year old and my hubby were dying laughing throughout the movie. The “frog-scuttle” will have you laughing in a tizzy…I won’t spoil the movie, but the frog-scuttle in the Buckingham Palace is something I could watch on repeat for hours. The BFG and Sophie are sweet, adorable and truly create a magical relationship. The kid in all of us will be simply delighted about the adaption of the classic THE BFG book on to the big screen. Fab job Disney! Another blockbuster hit for sure!
