We are in full swing of DIY Halloween costumes right now and I love a good DIY. I partnered with my friends over at Netflix Family to put together some really fun ideas. We are starting with one of my 3 year old Max’s favorite shws, Gabby’s Dollhouse. What’s not to love right??? It is a mega hit show with 8 seasons already with more episodes coming.
Max LOVES Carlita and I thought whats more fun than making Carlita out of a cardboard box. We all have so many home deliveries which means more cardboard boxes than we know what to do with so creating a fun Halloween costume seemed to be the perfect idea especially since I was planning on making another costume my older son Eddie or my hubby could rock together!
All You Need:
Cardboard Box
Acrylic Paints
Pipecleaners and felt if desired
Hot Glue
One of my biggest tips to making this costume is that you need to plan for at least 3 layers of paint on the box. Its fairly simple and budget friendly. Once finished, I got Max a purple sweatsuit to wear under cardboard Carlita which I felt great about investing in since he can wear until he grows out of it. These cardboard Gabby’s Dollhouse costumes will be one of kind and a definite hit on Halloween! For the adult Cakey costume, I used an old pop up hamper to wrap felt around to make the cupcake body. Its super fun and it gives you a nice shape! Huge fans of these DIY costumes and I think you will be too!
