Getting in that Positive State of Mind

Sometimes it hard to get out of bed. Sometimes its hard to put a smile on your face. Sometimes you feel like you are just in a plain rut or life is giving you a run for your money. Believe me, I have been right there with you more times than I want to admit. It is so easy to continue down the rabbit hole of negativity. It is easier to soothe your emotions with a bowl of ice cream than figure out how to get out of the dark hole. Sometimes it is easier than others, but I have found that if I start to force myself to start looking at the world through positive glasses, the world all of sudden seems like a better place. The sun seems to shine more, the grass looks greener and people seem to be smiling more. Its like a domino effect of positive energy. So what are some ways I start my day:

  1. I try to wake up and smile and think to myself…TODAY WILL BE A GOOD DAY
  2. I put on my workout clothes…one less excuse not to get my endorphins pumping sometime during the morning
  3. I have become addicted to “mantra”shirts, one of my favorite brands being Spiritual Gangster. I love finding a word or saying that starts my day off on a positive note
  4. I eat a healthy high protein and fat breakfast coupled with some good, clean fish oil and other essential supplements
  5. BREATHE…when I start to feel stressed or overwhelmed, I take a few minutes to INHALE deeply and EXHALE deeply. I do this about 10 times and all of a sudden the world feels much more manageable
