“Magic is all around, YOU just have to believe” -Unknown ✨✨✨
January 14th, my little family and I headed down to one of our favorite spots…Au Fudge in West Hollywood. It is one of the few spots in LA that has delicious comfort food designed for a foodie and an awesome “creative space” for kids to play while mommies dine. I don’t think there is a better concept out there.
We were headed to Au Fudge to celebrate the 2nd Season of Just Add Magic being available to stream on Amazon Prime. Just Add Magic is an awesome show for kids around the ages of 6-11 (give or take a year). The show revolves around a little girl named Kelly and her two best friends . These 3 girls find a mysterious cookbook. This is no ordinary cookbook, its a MAGICAL cookbook. The girls try to use the recipes to break Kelly’s grandmother from a curse which leads to all sorts of shenanigans good and bad. My little guy just adores this show, so we couldnt have been more excited to meet the cast.
We were treated to an afternoon of learning how to make our own Last Ditch Layer Cake. Our kiddos were instructed and taught by the pastry chefs at Au Fudge. They mixed and created their own cakes that they also got to decorate. I was a little hesitant to eat my little guy’s creation, but it was honestly one of the tastiest recipes for cake I have ever eaten. The salt and fluffiness is perfection!
Our kids were then treated to watching a couple episodes of Just Add Magic Season 2 on a projector screen. They noshed on mini churros, popcorn and fresh baked cookies. It was a “perfect” afternoon according to my little one!
Our little guy was so inspired by his baking class, he came home and cooked the hubby and I dinner (sugar eggs…ummm delicious?!?) and then served us his Last Ditch Layered Cake only after we finished our eggs. Needless to say the “magic” of the day continued. Every time he sees his cooking apron, his inner chef gets going to create some magic in our kitchen.
