So within a few days of joining Music Together, my hubby and I both noticed a HUGE change in Eddie’s speech. He has always been good about communicating/talking but sometimes it was in a language that only we, his parents, could understand. After our first class and a few days of listening to the Music Together CD at home/in the car, Eddie’s enunciation became so clear and his sentences grew from 2-3 words to 5-6. It was INCREDIBLE! I am not sure which part of Music Together spurred this change, but my husband and I were blown away. All of a sudden, we knew exactly what Eddie was saying. Yes, this is a blessing and a curse. While it was all very exciting that our little dude was taking leaps and bounds in speech, prior to this we were able to ignore his babbling wishes because we had “no clue” what he was asking for. Now, that he was asking for things clear as day, we had a new problem on our hands. How do you tell a toddler that he can’t do or have something because, well just because without saying just that. Much more challenging as a parent…much more trying.
13 weeks later, we are still constantly amazed at the growing benefit of Eddie continuing to go to Music Together. His vocabulary is growing every day, his enunciation getting better every day and most notably his sentence structure continues to expand. While this is all extremely exciting…there is nothing and I mean nothing beats the daily concerts our little guy puts on. Sometimes we, the hubs and I, are privileged to a guitar string plucking with sing along, other days it the harmonica or recorder and the most recent is a piano concert with some song belting. Each and every concert is by far away the most adorable little concert we have ever heard. We are parents at the end of the day…and everything our kiddo does is the cutest things ever. Every parent feels this way, right?!?
The little senor does make a few small demands for each performance we are privy to. Each performance requires a standing ovation. Yes, out little guy tells us to “stand up mommy, stand up daddy and clap hand.” As we are doing this, he is taking a bow or clapping for himself. I love it! This benefit of Music Together is enough to keep me going every single week.
So as I rethink the original question…Music Together: Mucho Expensive or Mucho Worth It? 100% worth every single penny. WE LOVE IT!
