We are HUGE animal lovers in this household, so when a movie comes up about saving animals…we are SO there! And we were lucky enough to get an inside scoop at the premiere of Saving Flora. This is a beautiful movie about an aging former circus elephant named Flora. The night before she’s scheduled to be euthanized, the circus owner’s (played by David Arquette) 14-year old daughter, Dawn (Jenna Ortega), sneaks Flora away from the circus to bring her to an elephant sanctuary. All that stands between them and the elephant preserve is 200 kilometers of woods, one raging river, two elephant hunters and climbing a mountain with an arthritis-ridden elephant.

One theme we kept hearing over and over again at the premiere was how amazing and therapeutic it was to work with an elephant. They are truly gentle giants and magical.
Bottom Line…we were on the edge of our seat throughout the entire journey Flora and Dawn took to get from the Octillo Circus to the elephant preserve. True love prevails and dedication to your animal is so apparent and so beautiful. As a mom, I hope to raise a child like Dawn. She is a strong-minded, kind-hearted and honest girl..what else could a mom hope for! A fun family movie that will have you cheering for Flora and Dawn and leave you in happy tears at the end.
