Vegan Irish Soda Bread Recipe

March 17, 2020

On Ep 1: Quarantining with the Crownholm’s we are making Vegan Irish Soda Bread well because it is St. Patrick’s Day and we are quarantined at home with the shelter in place because of the Coronavirus. Normally we might buy soda bread or celebrate St. Patrick’s Day out on the town, so this year we had to create our own fun at home so we decided to make our own version of Irish Soda Bread the vegan way.

Ta Da! We did it!
Cooking with Kids

What You Need:

3 Cups Gluten Free Flour

1 tsp Sea Salt

1 tsp Baking Soda

1 1/4 cups Oat Milk

1 TBSp Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

1/4c Sugar

*** while we were mixing, we realized that we didn’t have the right consistency so we added some plant based butter to get a good bread consistency ***

Knead that bread kid!
Preheat Oven to 425
Knead/Mix until you can make a round ball of dough

How to Make it:

  1. Mix Flour, Sea Salt, Baking Soda, Oat Milk and ACV together
  2. We added some sugar and butter to get the right taste and consistency
  3. Mix until you can ball together a loaf of bread
  4. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  5. Bake for about 30 min
  6. ENJOY!

We melted some additional plant based butter to drizzle over our slices of warm Irish Soda Bread and it was delicious! This is a super easy recipe that is a lot of fun to make with kids!
